Iskusni Englez u Zvezdinim redovima!

CK: Najl, reci nam nešto više o sebi?
Najl: Dolazim iz Severne Irske u Velikoj Britaniji, puno sam putovao, živeo sam u Dablinu dugo vremena, 8 godina, živeo sam u Istanbulu godinu dana, prilično sam naputovan.

CK: Niall, tell us something more about yourself and your background.
Niall: I originally came from Northern Ireland in the United Kingdom, traveled around quite a lot, lived in Dublin for a long time, 8 years, lived in Istanbul for a year, pretty well traveled. So been around quite a few places but seven years ago I moved to England and around that time is when i got in to rugby league, cause it’s not really that big in Ireland, north or south, so that’s what made me get into it, spoke to a couple of people and one of the guys who I know he plays for St. Albans and he asked me about going down to play for Centurions so that’s what made me get into rugby league.

CK: Excellent, adventurous spirit obviously. You partially answered the next question, how did your rugby league career start in the UK so we’re going to pass that one. Given that you just arrived playing with St. Albans how would you describe your experience with the game in England?
Niall: It’s been fun, and obviously I met a lot of friends trough it. It’s good with rugby league and rugby union because it keeps me fit, because I basically have been playing this past 5 years one season into the next so i’m continually being conditioned to play which obviously is a big benefit.

CK: This is your second time in Belgrade, how are your first impressions when it comes to our club, people, city itself you know?
Niall: I can say that I’ve always enjoyed Belgrade and first time I came here people were very friendly and very welcoming. Quite a few people bought me drinks (laughs) whenever i was out by myself in a bar, cause when you are travelling you travel by yourself and obviously since I’ve come to the club everybody was very welcoming and Mark, he’s been very welcoming as well, I’m staying with him at the minute, and obviously it’s all been good.

CK: How did you feel when you received the invitation to play for Red Star?
Niall: Obviously I was very chuffed about it. Len who’s the physio for Centurions, he said to me about it and he send off some footage, and the guys seemed happy enough so excited to come over, taken the invitation and obviously i’m very very excited and looking forward to get stuck in on Sunday.

CK: What motivates you to work on yourself in the terms of rugby league?
Niall: I think it’s quite good to have a little bit of aggression because it’s necessary, cause even compared to union I find it a lot more aggressive, union to me is probably quite a bit easier in terms of the physicality and the fitness aspect where league is a lot more demanding.

CK: How do you spend your time off the pitch?
Niall: When i’m off the pitch I usually watch rugby on TV (laughs).

CK: Finally what can our fans expect from you on the pitch?
Niall: Hopefully I won’t disappoint, I’ll put in the best I can, and try and put in a good few hard hits. I think that’s probably my specialty. So i’m definitely looking forward to the game.
